Verizon and Corning signed a multi-year, multi-billion-dollar supply agreement for more than 80 million miles of high-density optical fiber running 2027 through 2032. The deal explicitly serves two purposes: accelerate broadband expansion toward 40–50 million passings nationwide and build a national long-haul backbone for AI hyperscalers and Verizon's AI Connect strategy.
